Laser cutting is a technology that uses a laser to vaporize materials, resulting in a cut edge. While typically used for industrial manufacturing applications, it is now used by schools, small businesses, architecture, and hobbyists.

Remote Laser Cutting is a sublimation-based manufacturing process that vaporizes metal material without requiring a gas jet. As there is no gas jet to assist with material removal, remote-cutting machines are primarily limited to thin sheets of metal.

Fiber laser cutting head During cutting, this cutting head is approximately 1 mm above the sheet material. The focus height varies depending on the material thickness and material type and has a major influence on the final cut quality of the edge and surface of the material.

The laser beam hits the surface of the material and heats it so strongly that it melts or completely vaporizes. Once the laser beam has completely penetrated the material at one point, the actual cutting process begins. The laser system follows the selected geometry and separates the material in the process.
